About the Database
How Has This Database Come About?
Disability In-Service Training and Support Service Inc (DISTSS) has a role to ‘enhance the lives and work participation of people with disability’ and develop the disability workforce. The Database of Disability Consultants – Nothing About Us Without Us was designed to compliment and is a component of DISTSS’s Trainer and Assessor Database.
This Database of Disability Consultants has been developed with input from business, local government and people with disability. It is an information product and aims to be inclusive of the variety of consultants with disability in order to provide a more comprehensive range of options for client organisations. “Consultant” is used in its broad sense – it includes professional consulting services, trainers, facilitators, guest speakers, life experience and community consultancy.
This database is not intended to replace any existing databases. It supports and has links with existing databases and consulting services provided by people who have personal experience of disability.
